Keep Those Wheels a Rollin'!

After weeks of apprehension Caden got on his new bike. He hemmed and hawed for several minutes because the training wheels are up a bit to keep him slightly off balance so we can begin the process of riding with no training wheels. But once he got used to being a bit tipsy we can't get him off of the bike! Now that the weather is getting nice we get to go for walks around the neighborhood after dinner. Last night we went and he rode down one of the big hills for the first time without us having to hold on to him at all! He braked at the appropriate times to slow himself down.. we were so proud! He couldn't make it all the way up the hill on the way home, but he made it half way up, and for the first bike ride of the season when we still don't have our biking legs that is pretty impressive! This year maybe I'll be able to take him to the rail trail and he can ride his bike while Rob or I jog.. last year he'd get tired of pedaling..but this year I'm not sure if we'll be able to keep up!

The bike may be too big for him to learn how to ride completely without the trainers.. but we have his old bike as back up should we need it.. until Cole finally wants to actually ride it!

I over exposed this one a bit.. so turned it black and white to give it vintage look rather than an "I messed up" look!

Cole woke up from his nap in a rather cranky mood.. we finally convinced him to come outside by telling him he could share jellybeans with his friends.
Cole got mad when Cora tried to push him.
