Quogue Vacation: Day One

Our first day at Dundore and Poobah's house was a busy day! We hadn't seen them since Thanksgiving! and what a wonderful week to be there since we got to see Aunt Dorothy and Aunt Voo and their families.. a week with cousins!  Hooray!  especially because we don't get to see them often since they live out of the country most of the time.  What better way to celebrate than with Aunt Dorothy's fun beach hat?

Best part of the vacation (aside from the company of course!) is the beach!

Always ready for me and my camera with a smile!

Meet Jack and Jill.. oh wait, no that was us the parents new roles, filling bucket upon bucket of water for the kids to play in.. and dump out much to our dismay.

Look at the posture on this one!

My Coppertone Kid!

Caden and Rob were the only ones from our immediate family that braved the cold smashing waves of the Long Island shorelines.

Team work!

If you weren't careful the waves would knock you over!

Look!  He caught something!

Rob convinced Cora she also wanted to venture into the deep.

Do you see the devilish look in his eye?  He and Aunt Voo were having a water fight.. little did I know she was standing right behind me!

Did I say sand flea before?  I think I met ostrich!  Who puts their head in the sand?!  yuck!

Searching for and collecting sand fleas.  The gent in white is one of Rob's good friends growing up.  Caden and his son are the same age so Caden' always has someone to play with at the beach.

Cole also enjoyed the sand fleas (yuck!)

If you ever see colored bubbles in the store run as fast as you can away from them!  Aunt Voo being the wonderful Auntie that she is bought the kids these "lovely" bubbles.. the package did not mention that they will need to be washed immediately after playing.. nor did it mention the floors, walls and clothing would also need to be washed!

But they were quite pretty!

Once you got past the mess!  They were washable I should stress.. and did not stain anything thankfully!

And so we all got ready for the annual 4th of July party! BUT... come to find out we had the wrong night! hahaha!  at least I am not the only one who does this kind of thing!  It was a great trial run though!  I mean who doesn't love sporting the good old red, white and blue?!

Just call us an all-American family!
