Benson's Park - Restored!

It's not quite as exciting as it once was... but this past weekend we and the Sevin's ventured to check out what has become of Benson's Wild Animal Farm since its closing back in 1987.  When I explained what the park was to Caden I said "It was a fun park that Mommy went to when she was little, they had rides and lots of animals!  But then it closed down, so there aren't any more animals.. or rides."  No wonder I lost his interest! ha ha!

But we did have fun, even though it was a chilly windy day.   And it all looked a bit depressing as most things do after the big thaw.. but we'll go back once the park gets more green and perhaps flowers start blooming!  I think it will be beautiful then, with all sorts of stonewalls and staircases.  They have refurbished many of the buildings and turned aviary's into flower beds, it's a cute town park with trails that provide a nice option for outdoor adventures!

The boys all wanted their picture taken on the large rocks that flanked the parking lot.

The boys brought their scooters.. although our Cole only used his for about 3 feet before deciding he didn't want to use it anymore.   Thankfully we had brought the stroller so we could hang it off of it.

There were a few puddles along the way.. good for splashing, or in Caden's case, flying off his scooter into it.. Brr!

There was a stone bridge where the kids enjoyed throwing things into the water..

Since there are doing a lot of clearing there were a lot of miscellaneous woodland objects to throw.

The older kids and Charlotte ventured over to a "waterfall" coming out of a drainage pipe.. how funny is it that Cole and Charlotte are watching Caden apparently waiting for him to fall in!  (He didn't)

Kelly taking a break from what Kelly does best!

The men-folk complaining about taking family adventure walks.

Cole's "walking" stick.. clearly he walks on air you know!

Some kids...

.. the difficult one who wanted Daddy in the picture.

Miss Cora getting tired

Cole and Charlotte chatted on the way back to the car.. it was very cute listening to their little conversation about sunglasses!

Alternate titles to your photos:

"Kelly thinking of a way to slow down the SS and get a good waterfall photo without the use of a tripod."

"a photo of the difficult one...and Cole." :)

"men folk who should just stay home instead of complaining!!" :)

I love going out and taking photos with you and comparing our perspectives!
