We are thankful...

Thanksgiving weekend was spent in Quogue with Dundore and Poobah.. Quogue is all about relaxing and leaving the hustle and bustle of every day life behind, which is nice because the days seem longer which makes our (mini)vacation seem much longer than it really is.

Thanksgiving morning we took a trip to the beach.. Caden found a feather and spent a lot of time writing his name with it in the sand with the pointy end and then trying to erase it with the feather end before I could take a picture! He succeeded a few times before I finally got it!

During the winter the erosion is terrible on the beaches on Long Island... Cole uses it to his advantage though, as a fun slide!

The beach is beautiful when it is abandoned for the winter!

Cole loves to play in the sand.  His shells were his shovels, He wanted me to do a job for him, and he got all mad because apparently I was using the "handle" as the scoop, and the "scoop" as the handle.. we are VERY particular!

Driftwood baseball anyone?!
...or a beautiful fishing boat

This reminds me of those t-shirts/posters with the pictures of the evolution of man!

They cleaned out the attic and look what they found!....
... Ramps!!!

The boys and I went to the playground while Daddy golfed and Cora napped.. it was brisk outside! but we had fun and stayed there until they could play no more.. okay that is not true, they still didn't want to leave! but their hands were freezing! But they refused to wear gloves because " they can't hold on with them"

This is the face Cole makes after I give him an Underdog.  Don't you wish you could have this much fun on a swing?!

Around the playground are a lot of various exercise stations.  Here Caden tries scaling the wall.

Saturday was back to the beach!  A touch warmer because the sun was out.

Here you can see how the sand is carved away, but the picture doesn't give the drop off justice, it was at least 4 feet tall!

...and who could resist taking pictures of these birds!  all lined up along the drop off.

We know exactly how he feels :(  We were heading home soon.. no fun!
