We set off the Sunday after Thanksgiving to cut a tree. We used to tag a tree in October, then cut it after Thanksgiving... but life has become far busier, and fitting the tagging in is getting difficult. So we decided to check out a more local tree farm this year. Tree cutting was a FAIL! They had no trees higher than 2 feet off the ground! But they did have loads of pre-cut trees.. I really wanted to cut one, but Rob made me realized how excited the kids were to be there amongst all the trees, and I soon got back into the Christmas spirit!
This isn't actually our tree! It was going to be.. but we ended up finding a better one!
Noel's Tree Farm ended up being a success in the end.. I mean really! They offered hot dog roasting! They also had marshmallows, but we tried to convince the kids they were all sold out.. the people coming over to the fire with marshmallows brought theirs from home. Do you think they bought it?!
They also had a petting area with "baaa's". That is what Cora calls sheep!
They also had a hay ride where we got to see all their 2 foot trees! In 10 years this place will be great!
And a visit from Santa! Who gave out crayons and coloring books... Cora was all about seeing Santa while on the hayride. 20 feet from Santa she changed her mind, turned around and started walking in the other direction! Couldn't convince her otherwise.. she wouldn't even take a candy cane from him.
