New Years Eve - Day

New Years Eve Day was a whirl-wind of activity! The Sevins came over for a quick lunch and some present opening...

Unfortunately we didn't get Cole S. a computer.. this is our Cole's, but I know what he will be getting for his birthday if he doesn't get one beforehand!

And then we headed for the slopes.. not the ski slopes though, not yet anyway! The sledding slopes! for some FAST paced sledding! and I mean fast. The only problem with this hill is that there is a large patch of long grass, prickly bushes and small trees at the bottom.. so you have to put on the brakes at the bottom!
Cole and Cora were taking naps at the time so just Caden and I went... On Caden's first time down I told him.. okay, when you get to the bottom you have to bail out.. bail out means just roll out of your sled so you don't go flying into the bushes! He was pro-sledder and rolled out of his sled with yards to go, never once going into the bushes!

Cole S's face tells you how much fun we had!

Here Caden comes!

Bail out!

Brendan thought he could stop everyone before they went into the bushes. Poor Katrina got hung up in the prickers.

Ethan and Aidyn covered in snow as Ethan put on his "boot brakes"

Going in for another bail out!

.. and out he goes!

Back up in a flash!

Brendan cruising down the hill

Caden and I went all the way to the tippity top of the hill.. the upper path is a bit narrower and steeper and you get a lot of speed up.. we used the "boot brakes" quite a bit... Caden took the brunt of it! But he didn't complain.

Pretty Sunset as we were getting our last runs in

Kelly and Charlotte.. and more "boot brakes"!

Caden is absolutely in love with winter. He wants to go shovel every day. He definitely did not want to leave the sledding hill! And only did leave after we promised to come back the next day.. which we did pictures to follow at some point!

Cole S. giving a wave

Aidyn was a big fan of the taste of snow!
Brendan and Charlotte.. hang on!

Whheeeee!!! Check out Kelly's hair flying in the wind!

Those Sevin's sure do show the fun on their faces!!

And the end of the day came a popped sled from the pricker patch.. and a very sharp tree branch.. Boooooooo!

There is no doubt by the facial expressions on all that you had a blast. The kids snow covered with red cheeks and I bet none of them complained of being cold. Oh how I remember those days.

Those pictures are so funny. Caden was definitely the king of the bail out! We should have followed his example haha.
