Saturday afternoon we took Caden to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus while Grammy and Grampy stayed home with Cole.. Caden had a hard time wanting to leave for the Circus knowing Grammy and Grampy were at his house.. but we finally convinced him that it would be fun, and he could get a treat while we were there... We are not looking forward to the day when bribery doesn't work anymore!
In the end Caden enjoyed the show quite a bit I think, although he did sit through most of the show covering his ears. In his defense though, it was pretty loud. His treat was popcorn and lemonade because we could not justify spending $20 on a light-up toy! What a racket! A stuffed elephant, measuring about a foot high was $40!! A racket I tell you!
While the circus was very entertaining, it is a lot different than what I remember, but it's been awhile so my memory is foggy. A few differences were.... there was no tiger jumping through a flaming hoop (P*E*T*A was also protesting outside, so perhaps they convinced them it wasn't the best act?) The tight wire was much shorter! Did they always have the tigers surrounded by a huge cage? The clowns were actually kind of annoying, although I've never been a huge fan of clowns anyway, they just aren't funny! Did they always have little dogs doing tricks incorporated into the show? It still amazes me how the elephants hold the tail of the elephant in front of him. And it's not like they are placed there, we saw them grabbing onto them on their own!
