Pumpkin Patch

We had a beautiful weekend to pack in fall activities. Why I felt compelled that we were going to miss something if we didn't do these things I am not sure!  We had Caden's soccer game first thing in the morning which gave us the whole day.  Next we got Cora's 18 month.. turned 19 1/2  month... pictures taken (more on that later).  Then after naps we made it to the pumpkin patch.  Since we got apples at Mack's we gave our business to Sunnycrest for Pumpkins... don't worry Elwood got our business for the corn maze later.

Caden picked the largest pumpkin he could find.  So heavy he couldn't carry it.. especially because it didn't have a stem.  I tried to teach him the importance of a stem, but he would have nothing of it.. he had picked his pumpkin and that was that!.  Cora tried picking up several pumpkins, and while she is the strongest little girl I know she was not able to lift them.  Rob was able to persuade her to choose a more Cora sized pumpkin.

Here she is proud as a peacock with it!

Cole was crazy as usual.. he zipped into the patch and out faster than I could take a picture.

And of course we had to try to take a group picture... Getting all three looking good is impossible.. here are the closest we got... the first one is just funny because Cole had just sat on his pumpkin to be like Caden and got poked in the bum by the stem :)

Oh fall, you are so beautiful!  But why does this season seem the shortest?!

I'm with you! I try to squish every Fall activity in as well!! We only have 1.5 months to do it afterall before it gets really cold.

Hey, you win some, you lose some with the kids all looking at the camera, eh? The one with Cole just having sat on the pumpkin stem is hilarious!
